Richard Lyall

Richard Allen Lyall, 55, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at his home after a battle with brain cancer. Richard was a graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. Richard was the former owner of Richard's R.V. at Thornburg and worked at Safford R.V. prior to his illness. He was a former member of The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg and most currently a member of the Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Stafford Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kathy Stokes Lyall; daughters Heather Westerman and her husband, Joseph, and their children, Jordan and Lucas, of Woodbridge, Sarina Lyall of Knoxville, Tenn., and Andrea Kelley and her husband, James, and their daughter, Zoe, of Winder, Ga.; his parents, James and Ruth Lyall of Gray, Tenn.; a twin brother, Michael Lyall of Louisville, Ky.; sisters Deborah Boutchyard of Gray, Diana Rasnick of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Melinda Lyon of Johnson City, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dallin Kelley; a grandmother, Lillie Murphy and an uncle, Thadeus "Oak" Mullins. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.
