United States Mint Director Ed Moy along with US Senator Dick Durbin took part in the launch ceremony which appeared to garner much more public attention than ceremonies for the previous two designs. Of course, Springfield is where Abraham Lincoln spent most of his adult life and it has developed a special relationship with those interested in the 16th President of the United States. Home to Lincoln’s Tomb and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as well as a plethora of other Lincoln related sites, Springfield was the ideal location for a ceremony in his honor. The Old State Capitol was chosen as the site for the ceremony not only because it is featured as part of the new cent design, but also because it was very familiar to Lincoln who served in the Illinois General Assembly. It was also here where Lincoln made his famous ‘House Divided’ speech and where he is laid in state after being assassinated. One can easily imagine a pre-presidential Lincoln standing in front of the Capitol, just like the design shows on the new penny. A slight breeze caused the flag above the Old Capitol to flutter as US Mint Director Moy prepared to introduce the coin to the waiting crowd. As many reported from the launch of the previous two designs, much of the crowd waited in the snaking lines around the grounds in preparation for the penny exchange, rather than taking a seat in front of the ceremony. Almost all, however, were able to hear and see the speeches that preceded the exchange. Once the speeches were finished and the new design unveiled on stage, Director Moy and Senator Durbin handed out new shiny pennies to eagerly awaiting children. Those who had been waiting patiently were offered the opportunity for an exchange from Chase Bank — $3 cash for 6 rolls of new coins. Many made more than one trip through, which at its peak took about 50 minutes. Those not interested in keeping all of their allotted pennies were able to find a profitable outlet for them once they left the capitol grounds. A few enterprising individuals were offering up to $10 a roll, no doubt intending to sell them later at a higher premium.

Should I get a flu shot while I'm pregnant?

Should I get a flu shot even though I'm pregnant? This was one of our concern when I had my Doctors appointment just recently. My OBGYN required me to get my flu shot vaccine as soon as possible. Actually she required me two (2) Flu Shots Vaccine. One is the seasonal flu shot and the other one is swine flu shot. She said, getting a flu shot is safe during my pregnancy. Just make sure tie differences are not to close to get the second vaccine. She required at least a couple of weeks before taking the second vaccine. We will try to get my first flu shot within this week and will have my second flu shot on my next appointment.

Typhoon Ondoy Hits Manila Area

This are just 2 of the pictures I got from the Philippine News about the typhoon "Ondoy" that hits the area of Manila Saturday September 26, 2009. I feel so devastated of what my fellow countrymen is facing right now. A lot of them have lost their home and lives. As I was watching the news, the update was, their were 106 people died already from the typhoon and a lot of people are still missing. Until now volunteers, Military men and some organization are continuously helping our fellow Filipinos on the said tragedy. They are giving away goods for the victim of typhoon "Ondoy". Retrival operation is still on going and as the day goes by, a lot of dead bodies are being recovered. I pity for those family who lost their loved ones for this typhoon that hits their area. I hope they can survive this another tragedy that came in their lives and surpass everything. My prayers are with them. According to the news, the typhoon "Ondoy" is now approaching Vietnam area but another low pressure area is sighted on the Phillipine area of responsibility again and expected to be another typhoon that will hit the Philippines by Thursdays. Oh God please help them.

Thinking

It is almost late but I am still up, I just can't take my laptop away from me right now. I am thinking a lot of things and trying to figure out what to do to achieve my goals, which I have been trying for a while now. It is just hard to think sometimes especially if you are pressured or your not really into it. But whether I like it or not I have to do it because it is the only option to help caught up with the current situation we are in right now. I hope I can do this without putting myself in bad shape including the baby because I really want to pursue this and that requires a dedication to work for a long time in front of the computer and staying up late at night. Well, probably I just have to manage my time. Allocate an amount of time to each each job that I'm working without overdoing myself. Have a great evening everyone.

OBGYN Appointment

Went to my doctor's appointment today and everything went well. The baby is doing great, I am up to 108 pounds now which is not normal because I was 110 pounds before I got pregnant. I was just so sick during my first trimister and puts me down to 93 pounds. But now I am gaining it back and still has to gain more. I mean the required weight for the whole pregnancy. I am excited because on my next appointment, will do the sonogram for the gender. Hopefully the baby will cooperate. They will also do a glucose test as well as flu shots..Wheewww..Well that's a month from now to prepare. That's all the happenings today guys. Have a great evening.

Baby's kick

It felt great to feel my little ones kick inside my womb. Yes for the past weeks, I can feel the baby kicking so mildly but now it is getting stronger. I love the feeling and makes feel unworried because the baby is moving..hehehehe.. I even told my husband that our baby was playing boxing inside my tummy..lol..That's the update for now and I will let you know some of it soon. Have a great day!

Few minutes from now it is my beloved husbands birthday Forest Wayne Eaton. It is 11:58pm and how I wish his here. He went back to work today but he will be home soon. To my mahal ko, I thank God since the day you were born. I amm so lucky to have a husband like you and so proud to be your wife. I wish you good health and more birthdays to come. Playing the piano

Music has been my passion. It can't leave without it. To me I am so attach with it that I should hear it anywhere I go. It always amazes me to hear different kinds of beats and wording from the music that I get to hear especially the instruments that composes the music. What I love it is it makes me dance and feel so relaxed with it's harmony.

Being a music lover, it also leads me to learning how to play an instrument. When I was a kid I went to a piano lesson school and spent almost a couple of years there. It's just so sad that I have forgotten what I have learned and really regret the day that I stop learning it. Playing the piano is like playing the guitar too. You also have to learn the different Piano Chords like you have learned in playing the guitar.

Right now I am trying to revive what I have learn as well as playing the guitar. I a hopeful that I will get it back so quick so that I can play the piano in our church. Oh I would really love to. I have been browsing some website to look for some playing piano tips so that I can easily revive the knowledge that I have in playing the piano. I am so looking forward to the day that I could play the piano again. That would be a great day.
